Towards Robin Hoods Bay by seanoneill

Towards Robin Hoods Bay

The thursday of our week in North Yorkshire was a very important day for my family, especially for Ben.

Many of you will know that before his major heart operation in March of this year, he was struggling to climb a flight if stairs without being out of breath. His operation was so successful that it has changed his life.

We rode from Raven Hall down to Robin Hoods Bay in the distance, and back. The return journey was 6 miles with a climb of 400ft, so it was a really difficuly ride, but Ben breezed it , and was first back of the 4 of us!! It may not seem much, but it was a momentous, and very happy day for us!
Congratulations for Ben and all of you. Good to hear that the operation was so successful! Will this have been the last one then?

At first I was thinking I like the color one better, but after looking at this one a bit, I started to imagine an old ship captain standing on the cliff's edge looking out at the sea. I does feel more timeless sans color.

Congratulations! What a fabulous sign of Ben's recovery! Of course, I love this b&w version of the image -- the timelessness, and the emphasis on form.
