That lifeboat station is perched right out at sea.....how brave you would have to be to launch yourself off there with raging seas......I am so in awe!
Lovely shot with that lone leaning tree pointing the eye!
Love the silhouette of the tree framing the pier, Sean. I usually like your use of negatives space but I think I would have squared this one off. Maybe its not sufficiently negative?
I too like the framing by the tree. My camera gets out lots but so little time to do anything seriously with it. Its inspiring to see your b and w work again
@humphreyhippo Quite a few more to come I'm afraid. Get yourself over there. I love the place, and could see myself retired there one day! Remember to put your watch back 20 years if you go :-)
@seanoneill You should've gone to see Wightlink Raiders whilst you were over there. Apparently the rink is rather cosy. :)
It's probably twenty years since I went over to the island. Maybe I'll go back when the memory of that hi-speed ferry crossing finally fades. ;)
I like the simplicity of this shot, yet it has foreground and background interest.
I'm sure you don't mind me pointing out though Sean, the horizon isn't straight.

Love your composition here.
