My 1000th main album photo

This is the 1000th shot I have posted to my main album.

When I pondered what my 1000th shot could be, the only thing that entered my head was a shot of my family.

It sounds obvious, but my family mean everything to me. They define who I am, they have shaped and evolved me with their own personalities and outlook on life. They teach me the meaning of contentment, of love, of loyalty, of hope, of ambition. They teach me how to cope with adversity, how to pick myself up after a bad day, how to celebrate a good day. They teach me what is important in life, and what isn't.

My two sons are very different characters. They are adorable. Sam is very much like me, Ben is like Rebecca. They are personable, confident, humorous, intelligent young men. Ben was 12 when I started 365, Sam had just turned 15. How they have changed, and grown in stature and character in the time taken to post 1000 photos.

Rebecca is my rock. After almost 26 years of marriage, there have been very few cross words between us, mainly because she is so easy going and never gets flustered about anything. She supports, comforts and encourages in equal measure. I would be lost without her.

So, as I reflect on 1000 photos, 16, 18 and 26 years respectively, I can smile contentedly, knowing that I am satisfied with the journey thus far.

I am sure that many people on 365 have similar thoughts about their own family.
Congrats Sean, great shot and so eloquently put. Here's to the next 1,000!

They do I am sure Sean but none express it as well as you here. You must be a dream husband & father that you are able to say your thoughts & feelings so openly.....a gift most people do not have I reckon unfortunately....specially us reserved British! Perfectly posed shot.

@paulaw @happypat Thank you both. You are very kind. I am far from that Pat, I think I am at least 3 bus rides and a long walk away from the perfect father and husband!!

Congratulations on your 1000th image, Sean - what a great capture to mark the occasion and so typical of you. It is a pleasure to see a husband and father delight so openly in his family. I think families in general would be much happier if they took the time to appreciate one another more and more openly.
Great news about Ben and lovely to see Rebecca and the 'boys' looking happy and well.
I'm fine thank you, still busy with the camera and, as you may have seen, have discovered a love of abstraction.

A tear on the edge of my eye. Wonderful words. My 3 6 and 12 years mean the world to me too. Already I see that the little ones will teach and change me as much as I them. What a huge achievement 1000 shots and what memories must be captured within.

Congratulations on achieving this milestone and welcome to the club! You are a fine father and husband, Sean!

Congratulations Sean on your 1000th photo, quite a milestone but not as big as a wonderful family life of 26 years and the blessing of children that bring so much joy to our hearts.

Congratulation to you all, Sean. Wonder if your head really understood how right your heart had got it all those years ago. Diana and I celebrate our 30th today; she actually remembered too… only the 3rd time! Likewise I made a great choice… though I did have practice in getting it wrong! I can't think of an original celebratory shot!. I'll be cooking when she gets home from work, then after dinner I expect to have had too much wine to be able to take a photo!
