This is St Lawrence's church in the village of Morland.
Morland is where I grew up and this is the church where I was christened and married in. It is a grade1 listed building and is believed to have the only Anglo-Saxon tower in Cumbria.
@stiggle@annepann@barneyone@gijsje@bkbinthecity@hermann@tosee@tunia@memoriesbydawn@ingrid_marianna@flowerfairyann Thank you for your lovely comments. The church does hold memories of all sorts. I also have members of my family buried in the church yard and cemetery. @maggiemae yes it is the square tower that is Anglo-Saxon. One of my favorite places is at the top of the that tower where you can look out over the village and right out to the Pennine mountains.@milaniet Somewhere on the spire near the top is my Dad's initials scratched into the lead! Boys being boys they used to climb the spire to see who could get the highest then scratch their initials as high as they could. Dad has actually had hold of the ball at the top below the weather vane.
