Planting cabbage. by shirleybankfarm

Planting cabbage.

We planted approx 800 cabbage this afternoon. This machine makes it all very easy. The plants are placed in a wheel in front of the two sat at the back and as it goes around they are planted. They will be used in the vegetable box scheme when they are ready.
Interesting movement photo! They plant the wee cabbages behind them? 800 - golly gosh!

An interesting capture, what is the vegetable box scheme Shirley? Are the cabbages irrigated or is your rainfall sufficient :)

@maggiemae @dizzyd @tunia @gijsje @anniesue @hermann @gilbertwood @tonydebont @gaylewood @peterlgrave @cmp @pyrrhula Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs. I am sorry if I have missed commenting on some of your wonderful pictures but I seem to run out of time to look at them properly - which I like to do and comment on them all. This little contraption really is very cleaver and saves a lot of back ache. Bep ,I think they are winter cabbage. Sally the veg box scheme is a scheme where customers pay each week to get a bag of veg. delivered to their door. There are always carrots, potatoes and onions in the bag then 5 others depending on availability and season. Most of the veg is grown locally. Our rainfall is sufficient most of the time. These cabbage are rather later in than normal because we have been having a dry spell, which has now changed, today it has hardly stopped raining.
