This is a contractor baling hay into big round bales in one of our fields. My Husband had finished baling little bales by the time I got here with food for the men. It has been hard work getting the hay this year because the weather has not been hot enough for long enough. The hills in the background are the Pennines.
Lovely rural scene.Dad used to bale small bales for our farm and 3 neighbours and we used to cart and stack by hand around the 3000 bales per year.(teenage years).Loaders came in toward the end which made life a bit easier.
@roachling@stiggle@annepann@shepherdman@maggiemae@gijsje@anazad511@peterlgrave@onewing@thresheg@flowerfairyann@tonydebont@leestevo@snowy Thank you all for your comments and getting this shot on the PP. We just have our barley to harvest now then all our crop will be in. My husband still has some contracting to do but hopefully not a lot. Anne, there is never a truer saying, there has been a lot of grass moving around the countryside this week. Peter, all the small bales are to load onto a trailer with a grab and stack my hand, then throw off the trailer into the barn and stack again by hand. There were 700 in this field.
