Steampunk?

No. I took this while I was waiting for the Ophthalmologist to check my eyes. It is a phoropter which is a rather imposing but ultimately friendly device that measures refraction, or how a lens should be curved and shaped to correct your vision. It determines eyeglass prescriptions, as well as if you have vision issues like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism.
1 or 2? Very nice clear photo of this instrument. It's usually dark when I'm in the hot seat.

so no more swapping of a lens and them going 'this or this' and getting you stressed because you can't decide?/

What fabulous detail you got here

@30pics4jackiesdiamond - When I'm not sure, I started saying, "can I see number 1 again" and they have always flipped back. Sometimes I have told them that I see no real difference. Thank you for your kind comment.
@randystreat - I was by myself waiting for the doctor so the lights were all on.

I really don't like these questions about whether it's better. These changes are so slight that it takes a long time to notice.
Great details and pov.

@haskar - I know what you mean. Sometimes I wonder if they are trying to trick you when there doesn't seem to be any change.
