Presque Isle North Pierhead Light by skipt07

Presque Isle North Pierhead Light

My wife and I made a trip to Presque Isle in Erie, PA to spend some time walking and enjoying the beaches at the state park. We were walking along a bike/pedestrian trail when we came to a map. I noticed that there were two lighthouses. The one was closed for maintenance, but I did get some pictures. This is the second one which is unmanned and sets at the outer end of the north pier forming the entrance to Presque Isle Bay and Erie Harbor has been guiding mariners since 1857.
Awesome shot

I don't think I ever connected Pennsylvania with lighthouses though I'm not sure why not. Love pictures of lighthouses - the colors and setting are beautiful.

@milaniet - Pennsylvania is pretty much landlocked except for the northwest corner which borders Lake Erie.
