We spotted this guy sitting in a tree about 50 yards from our bird feeder. The birds at the feeder seemed to be oblivious of his presence as they were going to and from the feeder in an uncharacteristic way. Normally if a hawk is around they sit still as statues until the coast is clear.
I'm really surprised the others stayed around - my husband could always tell me when a hawk was around when all the little ones disappeared. Nice close-up.
