A couple of times each winter we head out with the sole intention of spotting a snowy owl. We drove 45 minutes or so in the direction we know they've been in the past, slowed to a crawl and started checking fence lines. Eagle-eyed hubby found this one within a km or two of getting there, jackpot right off the bat! It was very far away across a field, tucked in beside a fence post, watching us watch him/her. A pic for the memory books, as many [most!] of my 365 pics are! And a nice sighting for the worldwide weekend bird count too. [birdcount.org]
Oh so exciting...............what a great find!
I drive around looking for them here...............where I heard they were spotted but no luck!
Last week 2 snowy owls were rescued from a farmer's silo, a male and female!!
