People always spend time with my dog and then decide they want to get a dog. They are a bit crazy though because they don't understand exactly what goes into having a dog full time. They just know what it's like to play with a dog.
They enjoy playing with her toys with her, but they don't know what it's like when you're in the middle of doing something and she comes up with a toy in her mouth and wants to play.
They enjoy sleeping with her, but they don't know what it's like when she gets up on the bed and tries to steal your pillow. They like her sitting on their laps, but they don't know what it's like when she's scared of thunder and constantly wanting to sit on your head or always tapping you to remind you that it's loud outside.
They enjoy talking a walk through the park with her, but they don't know what it's like when there is a typhoon outside and you still have to take her out to pee and poop. They enjoy giving her her meals and treats, but they don't know what it's like to have to plan everyday so that you can be back at home during her feeding and walking times.
So yes playing with a dog is fun, but having a dog is a tremendous pain. Which is why i'm now providing the public service of renting her out for a week or so, so people can see what it's truly like to have to take care of a dog. This is completely altruistic and in no way about me wanting to be free of her for a week....
The picture above shows how crazy she is. If she gets too hot she will throw up, however she loves sunbathing. So she will look at me to turn on the air conditioner so she can then lay in the small square of sunlight that comes in the window. Such a brat In fact I try to go the summers without using the AC but because of her, sometimes i have to turn it on. Hence renting her out, so she can start pulling her weight around here.
