Catch And Eat

I have a friend who every time we hang out she says "next time we should go to this place where you sit around and drink beers and catch shrimp and you can eat all the shrimp you catch." Even though this has been going on for years, I always thought that there was a language barrier thing going on and what she said wasn't exactly true. But I never took the time to actually clarify with her what it was, since I don't drink, anytime I hear "beer" I just turn off my ears.

To my surprise, on a walk the other day I found a place like she mentioned. It is pretty much as she said. You sit around with some friends catching the shrimp in the big pool in the picture. Then you cook the shrimp you caught and eat it there.

It's really as simple as that. Might seem a bit boring, but the whole idea is to bring a few friends with you and relax and chat. Kind of a clever idea for a way to provide people to hang out and do something different.

I don't know exactly how easy it is to catch the shrimp. In my mind I always pictured it as being super easy, but seeing it here it looks impossible. The water is so dark that you can't even see the shrimp. No way of knowing if there are a thousand or just ten shrimp in there. Also I pictured being able to use a net, but it seems like all you can use is a stick with a string attached to it. I have no idea what they use for bait.

Anyway, I guess it's the only place where you can do some fishing in the big city. Granted some people do fish along the rivers that intersect the city but i don't think any human should be eating those fish. So this seems like a healthier alternative. Just have to trade the magnificence of nature for a dank factory looking building.
