Fist Armor....Yes, Really

I mentioned that this second year will not have to live up to the quality level of the first year, and here is a great example.

This is taken from a museum that has a lot of aboriginal Taiwanese artifacts. This piece was quite interesting as it was an armored chest piece made out of fish scales. Yep layers of skinned fish stretched across it.

Needless to say that reading "fish armor" will make you take a second look. The explanation is that this was used for ceremonies in which they would fight off ghosts. I can never understand why people are scared of ghosts, especially if you only need "armor" as thick as a t-shirt to fight them off.

sorry for the horrible picture with the bar through it. I never used this picture last year as I knew I would go to another museum (and I did) which has aboriginal artifacts, but unfortunately that museum didn't have a piece like this. And who knows if I will ever go back to this museum, so it's now or never for this picture.
