In Taiwan there is a lot of intellectual property and trademark theft. Most music are just songs stolen (not licensed) from Korea and the USA. Spider-man sells and endorses EVERYTHING here. His (unlicensed) likeness is in commercials, store signs, and what have you. It's always a treat to see some guy dressed up in Spider-man pajamas (un-ironically) hawking something on tv.

The news is probably the biggest culprit as it just airs complete American news reports. But every now and then I will get surprised by how small something stolen is. For example the sign above. Their logo is just DC Comics' (the company that owns Batman and Superman) trademark logo, but with the "D" changed to an "E". You can even tell that the E is a different size than the C.

This brings ups the question of why steal the DC Comics' logo, it's not a good one to start with. And secondly, why change the D to an E? In fact this is a small electronics store and here these type of shops are called "3C" shops. So why not changed the "D" to a "3"?

Bonus: Since nerd culture is now cool, if you want to impress your friends, you can say "hey did you know that the evil lady from the latest batman movie and batman have a kid in the comic books." Yep Batman's son has been the latest Robin for about the past three years. Although you don't really need to know this anymore as the rumor is that he will be killed off in an upcoming issue. But don't worry, if he's like two previous Robins who died, he will be back at some point.

Oh yeah you didn't know that there have been five Robins, two of which who died, and one was a woman. Geez what have you been doing with your life? Going outside and socializing with other people!?
