Age Of An Organization

One thing that always bothers me is how old religions are so easily accepted, but any religion that is new is treated a lunacy, looked down on, and viewed as a cult. In Taiwan these views are placed on new organizations. Taiwan has many organizations that usually one part religious group, one part charity, and are aimed at improving Taiwan.

The long standing ones are well regarded, are very open, and have very modest (i.e. old and cheap) accommodations and things. It exudes trust, as if visual confirmation that every penny they have goes towards charitable work.

The new groups are not like this at all, they build huge palaces like the one in the picture. They also like to buy very large and glamorous religious thing. Most notably they love to have complete control over their deeds.

For example one organization wanted to help with education, but wasn't happy with having to deal within the ministry of education's rules and standards. So they bought some land and just built their own school.

As for if their affect, we don't know yet. Yes they can kind of seem a big arrogant, but also you can see that there is a desire to do things a new way and quickly. However while doing something fast and very differently, can lead to innovation, more often than not it leads to problems. So I am anxious to see what their results and affect will be ten years down the line.
