I could probably do a month's worth of posts about the stran....err...unique things that convenience stores in Taiwan have.
In the picture today is of a vat of murky liquid which hides hard boiled eggs. every convenience store has one of these, and they all seem quite scary. In my time here I have only seen two people get an egg out of this. Which I think makes it even more scary as the eggs must be in there for several days.
I'm not the only one who seems put off by them though. The sign says if you buy a drink, than for one taiwan dollar more (about 3 cents) you can get an egg. I'm all about a good value, but a 3 cent egg seems extra scary. Then again I don't even know the regular price of just the egg. It's got to be that they pay you right?
