I think I've had one or two pictures before about the main made stream in my part of the city, which was essentially made to be an open sewer. The odor is definitely not a nice thing, but instead of doing something about that, the city decided to make it look better.
All along the sewer they made these little areas with flowers and benches.
Benches.
Seriously?
It smells horrible, who would ever sit there, less than a foot from an open sewer.
In the back left of the picture is a map of the sewer pointing out the different parts of it that have these small...uhh...gardens? That's probably the most offensive part of it, that they have the audacity to act like these tiny areas are some sort of attraction. I think we would all rather they take the time to save up the money and put a lid on this thing.
Oh and if you were curious what those metal bars are doing in front of the bench (bench!!!?), it's to stop people from parking their scooters there.
