His Claws are Digging In!!!

Been trying to push myself to start posting again but have been unable to convince myself of the technical merit of the shots I have been taking.
In the end I thought "bugger it". Just go with the subject material and forget about the rest.
You will be pleased to know that the back yard birds are still as prolific as ever. So here is Maggie hand feeding one of the King Parrots that are now very regular visitors. There are 8 of these that are regulars although rarely all at once and only 2 that are this quiet. I suspect we may have some more after this breeding season.
Photo taken back in November before Maggie and family left to live in the US
Lovely to see this beautiful shot of Maggie and the parrot! Good to see you posting again. I thought your family were moving to the UK - are they now in the US? That's hard for you! Fav for this lovely shot!

Hi Pam, Our daughter is in the UK with husband and 3 boys. So hopefully we will be going there mid year. They are still renovating their home, dust dirt and mayhem not for me. We were going for Christmas but the heritage homes always throw more problems than expected. Now going to have a White Christmas in US/Canada where our son and his wife, Maggie and Vivie have relocated to. Rhoda

@terryliv oh no you one in UK and the other In the US! So sad when it cuts down on the time you can see them and your grandkids! Where in the UK does your daughter live? Have a happy white Christmas!

She's n London Pam. In Ealing to be precise. They owned a 3 bed Edwardian house there before they went to Hong Kong in 2012. When they returned last year, they sold it and bought a larger 4 bed house and have renovated/rebuilt it. They had intended to have the renos finished before they moved in but it has taken much longer than planned and they had to move in amongst all the workmen. Not even a kitchen for the first 3 weeks. Such is life in the big smoke.

Lovely picture of Maggie. It's good to see you back. I enjoy your photos and missed seeing you here. Certainly many of my photos have no technical merit at all but I'm keeping at it because I like seeing what everyone has to share. Where in the US is your son?

@tahoemb For the first 4 months or so they will be living in a small place in Washington State called Birch Bay - about 5mi south of the Canadian border. They will then be moving to Naperville, just outside of Chicago.
We leave on Monday to spend 3 weeks with them including 1 week at Big White in British Columbia for Christmas. Our first White Christmas.

What a beautiful youngster -- I love her expression and the way her smile lights up her face. She and bird seem quite content despite the claws.

@mjalkotzy We've temps of around 35deg for the past week or so Martin and consistently above 30deg for quite some time now. Forecast max on the day we arrive is -2. I think it will be a bit of a shock to the system.

Photographic merit can put unnecessary pressure on your project. Just keep using the images that you have, as they make a terrific photographic diary. This one's very sweet!
