Canada's Highway 5 heading down from Coquihalla Pass towards Vancouver.
I love road shots and I liked the layers on this one.
We are back home (BrisVegas) now. We were both flattened by the Canadian/US version of the flu for the last week - hence the lack of postings and comments. 14+ hours on a flight from Vancouver to Brisbane when feeling well below par is not a pleasant experience. Am now trying to catch up
A wonderful Winter photo. Looks like the Sierra here, the mountains in California. I live in the Sacramento Valley so we are getting a lot of rain, wind and cold weather. They say we may make history with the worst weather in 10 years. Praying for no flooding over the coming weekend. I cannot imagine traveling sick. Bad colds have been here and many including us have had them and unfortunately they last too long.
Hi Terry. I have been in Australia for a month and am here for another two weeks, so I had the miserable heat, while you had the cold. Did you fly Air Canada? I am traveling with them this time, but what a hassle with two customs and immigration checks each time. Heading to the US of course. Sorry about the cold/flu.
@frankhymus Hi Frank, Yeah we flew Air Canada. I'll never complain about the food or service on Qantas again.
The hassles going through US/Canada immigration at the Peace Arch at Blaine is quite ridiculous. 1+hour long queues with each official trying his darndest to be a bigger prick than the guy in booth next to him. I couldn't help but compare it to border crossings in Europe between countries that have been at each others throats for centuries and now you enter and leave without hardly noticing it. And US and Canada are supposed to be close friends/allies.
Another winter wonderland image Terry with great composition using the road and mountains as lead in lines drawing the eye into the shot, I've always found the worst immigration delays and plain bloody minded immigration's officials are at the borders of the USA they make you feel most unwelcome, worst delay was driving from Tijuana to San Diego took us just over 4+ hours to get over the Mexican US border back to our hotel in San Diego that we left two days before, never again:)
A lovely road trip road. Sorry you both came home suffering and also had to put up with immigration hassles and a long flight - what a nightmare. I must admit we have only been to the US a couple of times since 9/11 and the immigration hassles rather put me off visiting too frequently.
We have those border crossings ahead of us but have experienced them before and they were very lengthy. Sorry you both ended up with the flu. My daughter is just recovering from it too so I hope we don't get it while over there.
Hey, I have one like this.....from the seat of a two-wheeler though. And lacking the white stuff. Nice shot though! Hope you enjoyed your time in Washinganada, but feel bad for your suffering. I know well how miserable flying while sick is. Given the new air recirculation on the planes (an attempt to increase slipperiness, and thus fuel efficiency) you probably transmitted to flu to your 312 fellow passengers. I hope you can live with yourselves.
