Predatory Mosquito by terryliv

Predatory Mosquito

I never knew there was so many different mosquitos . I also never knew that there were good guys and bad guys.
The predatory mosquito is a non blood sucker and feeds on nectar which I suppose makes him a good guy.
He is large (12mm) and is seen here feeding on the nectar from a Lilly Pilly.

BoB
Either way good or bad, I tend to squash them if they land on me.
Lovely clear photo.

Mosquitos and Louie the Fly used to be in the same category. I will try to look for the friendlier Mossies with respect now. Nice shot too.

Great detail caught there Terry. I remember putting up a photo of a mosquito on Matthew, and people were just about calling child services.

Top macro. Your focus is amazing. I am always amazed when people comment they remember the precise mosquito that bit them. I'm constantly swatting them and would find it very hard to precisely identify the one that gave me whatever wog it is being blamed for.
