The Castle

Day 10 - Paronella Park, FNQ

This is the remains of the Spanish Castle that was built in the early 1930s and was used as a theatre and hosted functions and dances. Over the years, it has been ravaged by cyclones, floods and a fire in 1979. It's all very eerie.
You can read more about it at http://www.paronellapark.com.au/about/brief-history
How interesting, thanks for the link. It looks quite out of place in FNQ doesn't it.

Been there. Great spot. The night tour was even better, I even brought my tripod. Great shots.

@leestevo The place caught us completely by surprise Lee-Ann so an extended stay and a night tour was not in our thoughts at the time. But we did get our two year pass. May have to go back and do the night tour. LOL

Had to go back to this to comment that Better Homes and Gardens did a feature on this last night, and I knew exactly what it was from your lovely informative photos.
