Nice Place for a Cuppa

Day 22 - Thompson Development Rd, Channel Country, SWQ

Heading south west from Longreach towards Windorah and after a steady climb up the Swanvale Jumpup, we saw a sign for a lookout. It was time for a cuppa so we headed off and were rewarded with a fabulous spot for a very quiet cup of coffee.

The view of the Thompson River floodplain went on forever and not another soul within cooee. It was a long cup of coffee.
Harsh but interesting country

Great spot to stop and contemplate life. I wonder how far it is to the horizon. I remember on the road from Rockhampton to Longreach there was a stretch where you could see 17km in front of you without a bend.

Great capture of the vast landscape. Looks to be a wonderful place to sit and reflect with a cuppa. I guess that must be you standing at the lookout.

The landscape reminds me so much of our area, but the word "cuppa" does not. I had a friend who spent a month in Perth, and the locals had great fun at her expense with words. Because she didn't know the difference, they made some up for their own amusement when she would use them later on.

It's a hard life but someone has to do it - what a great coffee shop!

My goodness, that's huge. Interesting you use the word cuppa, it seems so british to me
