Sun Power by terryliv

Sun Power

Day 23 - Windorah, Channel Country, SWQ

Windorah's electrical power comes from these five mirrored dishes, each almost 14 mtrs across.

The mirrors reflect the sunlight onto a high capacity solar cell in a central point at the front of the dish. Each cell generates approx. 26kw of electricity.

The farm generates about 360,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year. Backup power is provided by diesel generators

Wow Such a massive sun power farm.

Please don't go near this with the flash on your camera. God knows what damage you could do.

It amazes me that we don't make better use of solar energy.
