Rhoda once again on the edge for that last canyon shot.
Shortly after this, we headed back to Las Vegas and the tour of the canyonlands was over and we would start the next phase of our US visit. And the verdict?
As a way of getting an overview of a selection of the various canyons and national/state parks, it was excellent. Unfortunately as with many things in life, the more you get to know about something, the more you discover you don't know. That was certainly true here and has been reinforced during the posting of these photos as I researched where we had been and what we had seen and discovered how much we missed out on.
Of course the alternative to doing the grand overview tour, would be to spend the 10 days at a couple of locations and then we would have spent the rest of our lives wondering what the places we missed out on were like. Life is full of compromises.
And my favourite place? Very difficult question but as Jane observed fairly early in the piece, it was probably Monument Valley. But if you ask me again tomorrow, I will probably give a different answer.
You certainly saw some amazing country. We felt the same way with our trip, but if you try to do too much you end up shattered and you don't enjoy any of it :)
