We rescued this half grown blue tongue lizard out of the pool. He had probably been swimming around all night and was pretty lethargic.
After we got the lizard off his neck, Declan tried to give it a kiss before we put him in a sunny spot in the garden.
A couple of days earlier I had found some skink lizard eggs in one of the pot plants and gave them to Declan to hold. While he had them, one of the eggs hatched onto his hand. The baby lizard was not worried at all and was passed backwards and forwards between Declan and Grace for quite a while before it was put into the garden. All of the other eggs, bar one, have since hatched also.
What an amazing story and a wonderful image of the lizard with your marvelously adorable grandson! He'll have some stories to share when he's back home, that's for sure!!!
I'm taken by your London comment. As you know, we have lizards here, and once we saw a family from Japan excitedly chasing one with cameras in hand. Everything is new to someone else I suppose.
