This female King Parrot is looking slightly bedraggled for good reason.
We have about 4 or 5 families of King Parrots that regularly visit our backyard and today was the first day in a few weeks since we had seen an adult female. At this time of the year, they are confined to their nests and I would think that this hen's chicks are now at a size where she feels she is able to leave them for a short time to have a feed that is not second hand.
She was certainly in a bit of a rush to have a feed and get going again. Looking forward to seeing some of the chicks soon.
@rickster549 Yeah. They're are all wild Rick. Some of them just don't know they're supposed to be wild. LOL
I should point out also that we live on a regular suburban block about 7kms from the centre of Brisbane, a city of about 2.5 million people. Very good array of birds all things considered.
