Rocklea Market Spruikers by terryliv

Rocklea Market Spruikers

Four of the spruikers on the go at the Rocklea markets.
The reactions of the spruikers to having their photo taken was interesting. The girl in the top left gave me high fives and handed me an orange after I took her pic. The guy bottom left seemed to go up a gear when he noticed the camera. While another guy stopped mid sentence when he happened to notice me and asked that I not take photos of him. No pic of him.

I hope you noticed the price of the strawberries in the photo top right. When you see how people are dressed, just remember it is only the 6th day of spring.
this is hilarious !!!!!

"Spruker" — that's a new word for me. Interesting, the various reactions to your taking pictures. Glad you collaged the event so we could see more of the action.

I love this and the new word I learned. My dictionary says "tout".

@lyndemc I posted this late last night after coming home from a dinner party where I had quite a few too many and should have done a spell check. It is Spruik - not Spruke. Fixed it now.

Great captures of the emotion in these spruikers! I always enjoy going to the market with people yelling out how good their produce is :)

@terryliv "Spruik" is a new word for me as well! I'd not ever heard the term, no matter how you spell it. lol about the dinner party affecting your spelling.

@gigiflower They were in close proximity and were yelling across the aisle at each other - half the marked prices on all produce

Great photos! Spell check makes no difference. Either way the word does not compute for my brain, but it does now!

People in public, fair game, but it does one good to respect wishes

Wonderful collage full of action and detail, had to look the word up, "someone who speaks in public" or "some one who calls to get customers to enter a club or restaurant", Great word and lovely Images Terry;)

Fascinating collection of spruikers! I'm also fascinated that many people did not know the word, spruik - must be an "old" word! They certainly all have their mouths wide open :)
