Beautyberry leaf...

I had to show the leaf because it has been so very dry here, the berries are still tiny and green. When "ripe" the berries are a beautiful vivid purple!

I thought I'd posted this plant, but I posted a spider the only time I photographed a beautyberry. But I do have a few photos of the purple berries here, http://phytoimages.siu.edu/cgi-bin/dol/dol_terminal.pl?taxon_name=Callicarpa_americana&rank=binomial
I point out that in 2015, they were lusciously purple not until the first week of September.
