Like Ships That Pass...

...at high noon.

I went to the spot where North Landing Road crosses the North Landing River. The river is part of the Intracoastal Waterway, a 3,000 mile / 4,800 km inland waterway that runs from Boston, Massachusetts, down the Atlantic coast, around the southern tip of Florida, then follows the Gulf coast to Brownsville, Texas, very near to the Mexican border.

There is a dual-swing bridge where the road crosses the river. I arrived, serendipitously, just before the bridge was about to open to allow two boats through. The one on the left is the Tochina II, from Beaufort, North Carolina, and the one on the right is Wishbone V, from Charleston, South Carolina.
Looks like a dreamy pastime and probably very restful.
