The Missus and I are in the Washington DC area caring for a friend who had recent surgery. I managed to get away for most of the day to go to the nearby Air & Space Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy Center.
Outside the main entrance to the museum is the wall of honor flanking a walk that leads to a sculpture called 'Ascent'. The final approach to one of the (many) runways at Dulles Airport next door. This affords even the most rank amateur shutterbug to grab great shots like this.
