Back in March, I posted two pictures of wood ducks (here and here) that were very close to an observation deck at Dutch Gap Conservation Area. Despite being from a notoriously shy species, this pair doesn't seem to mind nearby humans.
The pictures I got before were on a brilliantly bright, clear day. Today was dreary with scattered drizzle so the ducks' colors aren't as bright, but they were even closer than they were before (and this was while I was quietly chatting with another photographer).
This is, as the title implies, the female wood duck.
