The Missus (and the dogs and cat) bought me a new long lens for my upcoming birthday so I took it out to Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge to try it out.
This small hawk was perched atop a utility pole but this was as close as I could get, even with 600mm of zoom. This was also the best light I could get with the impending winter storm. I'm not certain what exactly it is. It has features of both a rough-legged hawk and a merlin. I'm open for suggestions and/or expert input.
