The Missus and I are volunteers at the Military Aviation Museum here in Virginia Beach. About 80% of the collection flies and several of our Navy aircraft will be headed to Atlanta for an air show this weekend.
After the AD-4 Skyraider took off, the pilot brought it around for a pass over the air field, a tradition at the Museum. But this one was done in a simulated ground attack, appropriate for a ground attack aircraft.
After the simulated strafing run the pilot would have presumably dropped several bombs on us for good measure. This picture shows where its 8,000 pounds of ordnance - any combination of bombs and rockets - would hang.
