Hay in the barn by ubobohobo

Hay in the barn

With storm clouds building it's a great feeling to have drawn the short straw and have the hay safely stacked away in the barn. Please bear with me as I continue to explore "collage".
I can't believe that you actually got some fresh hay into your shed Margaret!! Great shots of K in action!!

@juliem Great feeling. What was left was looking very sad (as you can see in the background.)

Nice shot. Bales of hay used to be pretty cheap when I was a kid, and then last year I saw some bales of straw and asked how much they were and then it was over $4.00 a bale. I just can't imagine paying prices like that on the farms today. Wow. If you grow your own it might figure out to be cheaper but for someone who just needs a bale now and then I guess it isn't too bad.

@honestabe welcome to my follower's list. This hay costs us $2.00 per bale to have cut, raked and baled. Bales of lucerne hay are selling for $12 -$15. So yes, growing our own makes it economical to use as cattle fodder.

@nazzienoo Thanks. We used to do this unloading and stacking by hand and I'm still guite in awe of this "grab" which picks them up, 15 at a time and places them so neatly in a stack. Much easier on the back!

@pyrrhula Thanks for the encouraging comment. I like the way collage gives you the chance to tell a little story in pictures.
