I've wanted to take this photo for a while now because it makes me smile.
It's a photo of my Mum and her sister taken in the late 1930s. It has stood in this frame for the whole of my life. It's been broken and mended by my Dad in his rough and ready style, travelled with Mum to her retirement home and now is back in the family home taking pride of place on the duchess in the spare bedroom.
My ten year old grandaughter came to stay over Christmas and when she left, this is what I found - the bare frame adorned with stick-ons to bring it into the 21st century. In fact all the photos in the room had had a face lift. Bling decorates each frame. They bring a smile to my face each time I enter the room.
@jenrobcarr Thanks Jennifer I am slowly getting back on my feet. I rest in the spare room each day which led to today's photo. Also finding time at long last to read the manual for my camera and practise new learnings.
@gardengal I love old photos too. Living on in the family home has given me a collection of several generations of old photos. Wonder if ours today will last as long and retain the quality of the old prints of yesteryear.
