Gooloowan by ubobohobo

Gooloowan

Spent a lovely weekend in Brisbane attending the engagement party of a past student. Saturday we took a short tour of Ipswich and discovered Gooloowan, a private home built for the Cribb family in 1864.
Over the past few weeks I've been admiring how others have used line in their photos so I concentrated on trying to capture line in the day's images. Quite like this combination of line and colour that I captured at Gooloowan House.
Interesting architecture! Margaret, what was your teaching experience? I am also a retired teacher, so I am interested. I taught high school English, History, and Movie Appreciation. It is wonderful to stay in touch with previous students!

@cejaanderson Thanks Jane. I was a primary school teacher. Moved into curriculum advisory position in 1990s and then Bach into the classroom as a teaching principal in our small schools where I trialed the introduction of Prep as a compulsory grade into Queensland schools. English was my speciality. I also ran my own speech and drama school during the time I was home with my children. On Saturday I was included in the party who went to the wedding dress selection. Don't think students would often invite their teacher to such an event. Felt very privileged.
