At Last

I've been trying to get a photo of a joey's head poking out of the pouch for ages and finally I was able to creep up on this one. However when I clicked the camera the mother hit herself on the chest with her front paws and the joey disappeared back inside with just one back foot left hanging out and the mother turned and hopped off to the back of the field out of harms way.
What an excellent shot.

I think you might be quite a long way away judging by the way Mother Kanga is looking! Fave for the good focus!

Great shot, Margaret! Kangaroos are such interesting animals, but I don't envy their way of carrying the joeys when they reach this size.

This is so fun! You must have been very scary with your mean old camera. She's a good mama, isn't she.
