A Close Shave by ubobohobo

A Close Shave

Do you know the term? It means a narrow escape. This is a baby swamp pheasant or coucal blown out of its nest in last night's storm. Yes, it's rained at last...58ml... Whoop, whoop and more forecast today, a close shave in its self. Things were getting pretty desperate. But I digress. The little bird had a close shave when I mistook him for a cane toad sitting in the middle of the road and nearly ran over him. Fortunately he made a hurried fluttering escape and found his way up onto a fence. I hope the parent birds find him or it might be a short lived escape.
Oh dear...I'm now worrying about this little bird half a world away! Very sweet image of him or her.

do you have rescue organisations there if the parents don't get it?

Rain, the elixir of life! So relieved that you have had a really good drenching, the land will look so different in a few days! Hope your pheasant survives,
