No mow May 31 by wakelys

No mow May 31

There are so many communal spaces that have been left this year. Most look lovely but some are hazardous. Areas around sign posts have overwhelmed street names and directions and the overgrowth has been difficult to see around corners when driving. In part this is due to local councils using No Mow May as an excuse not to keep highways and verges clear in this area.
Thank you to all that have positively commented and fav throughout the No Mow month of May all of which I very much appreciate.
Another fabulous shot to end your great month with.
For the reasons you stated, there will never be no mow month here.

Would love to walk along that thick vegetation.

So typical of councils to do that.

Well done!

Sounds as though no mow May has a downside

I like the wild look of this and I imagine the bees and other animals appreciate the availability, but I can see where it would be an aggravation in developed areas.

Lovely field of native plants. Now it's time to bring on the goats. There are some for rent for this purpose in a town not far from here.

Lovely wildness and I also appreciate what you’ve said.

@randystreat goats are handy for such jobs. A friend used to have her neighbours goats for a few days to clear the brambles and all other overgrown parts of her wild garden. Eventually the goats went to the Zoo - now that is a story that becomes a little sad . They became part of the menu for the Tigers.

Annoying what they get away with, but it does look nice.

I especially love the daisies, I expect the mowers will come out now though.

A nice wrap-up for your no-mow month

It’s perhaps now getting to the state where it needs to be cut & neatened.

Nice capture of the wildflowers. Hopefully, they will trim some of the hazards soon.
