They look serious here but they actually have a wicked sense of humour!
We had the Feast of the Madonna service in the evening. Wild storm earlier put many off coming but the ladies sang their hearts out anyhow, with me accompanying on the organ. Normally the Madonna you see here is taken out on procession but Covid rules didn't permit this year. Instead we enjoyed a load of freshly baked, extremely sweet doughnuts!
Beautiful! Same traditions here with a lovely statue of the patron saint being carried around the streets of the parish. Same thing here too that because of Covid rules outdoor celebrations are not held but inside church ceremonies continue with a lot of pomp. Thank you for showing this.
@sangwann@bkbinthecity@randystreat Yes the rules are strict, and seemingly contradictory! Afterwards we milled about as normal outside, happily chatting and chomping on fresh doughnuts! @randystreat Yes I've been playing for over 20 years now! It's a lovely, small, late 18th C organ, a pleasure to play.
Good that you were able to gather with at least some of the choir. It seems strange that gathering outdoors is considered more risky than indoors, although I suppose there would have been more crowds outdoors. Fav!
