What a fantastic Valentine's Day we had! We drove to Columbus to see "Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak" exhibit at the art museum.
I can't believe how big the exhibit was. Rooms and rooms of his original sketches, drawings and illustrations; preliminary mock-ups and paste up boards of his books; stuffed animals and merchandising of his characters; giant Henson puppets and costumes for "Where The Wild Things Are" movie; and even a piece of a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon he designed.
We studied his work for hours. I didn't want to leave. Absolutely fantabulous!!
