S admires her handiwork. A big double decker creamy fruity pavlova.
A restless night. Had the aircon on for a bit, them off, then on and again. Thunder rumbled through the night - and there was some rain which caused a leak in M and C's bedroom. Breakfast of crusty rolls, chocolate croissants, jam and fruit.
A chilling day - swimming, reading, played melodeon with Anna, played bananagrams and hearts with some of the HMs and M. Ate out on the front terrace again - panzanella and cheeses for lunch. Anna, Mike, Dave and I prepared dinner: Anna's garlicky chicken and my oven roasted ratatouille for the non-meat eaters. Got a bit of a crampy tummy for a bit so went easy on the prosecco and nibbles.
Returned to the kitchen to finish cooking. The lights didn't keep tripping like they did last night, but the oven electrics did a couple of times. And then the housekeeper told us we weren't supposed to use the second one, oh well. All cooked ok in the end and we had S's pavlova for dessert.
Retired early though - I'd had a headache since waking and it was proving hard to shake.
What a fabulous Pav! One of my sons has an anaphylactic dairy allergy so Pav (minus the toppings!) is a real go-to special for him. That one is spectacular.
