I am currently adding my 365 photos to a Picaboo Book each day, at the end of the year I am going to get it printed in 12x12 hard cover, I am hoping to have a 365 book for this year and many years to come.
I print my photos off regularly and am filling two albums that I bought for this purpose. It's really nice to have something tangible from 465 as well as just the online album
Not a thing. Came to learn things about my camera and digital processing and am doing so. While I love some of them, there are others I hope to never see again.
Maybe next year, I will plan a book and do more of a theme of photos.
I made my first year into a book and it was so fun to watch my growth. However, since my first year, I have moved away from 365 and have been learning from webinares and classes and man, have improved even more! It is so fun to see the growth from day 1 of 365 to now.
I started thinking about doing a book, but when the end of the year came last December, I looked at some of my shots from January and I asked myself why would I want some of those shots in there?
I may end up putting together a book, but it's going to be a "greatest hits" type of book, not a daily chronicle. I put a calendar together for a friend of mine using photos that she really liked from last year. I want to expand on that format for a book.
When I finished Year 1 of my 365project I made an album on Shutterfly. Very simple black album with black pages and text boxes that summarized my comments. Since my project mostly revolves around chronicling my life with my family, it was a huge hit in my house! Now I'm on Year 2. I specifically waited til January 1st to start Year 2 so that when I finish, the corresponding album can represent all of 2012.
I'm just using it as one more piece of motivation for expanding my photography...it's too easy not to make the time for myself away from my kids. And while I absolutely love photographing them, I wanna do more!
My dad came up with what I thought was a great idea. Get every photo made into one of those "turn a page a day" desk calendars. This way, I know what I was up to exactly a year ago on this day.
Yes, I've been making desk calendars - one picture a month - for a couple of years now with my photos, and giving them to people for Christmas presents. I'd like to have enough decent ones for a small book.
I just did a selection of those that meant the most to me (not always what others might have considered the 'best') last year & then on the back page, screenshots of each month's overview - so a mini calendar.
My birthday will more or less coincide with the end of my 366 project, and the children plan to get me a digital frame so that I can load them on and continue to enjoy my favourites from the year (I save each into a 365 folder on my pc when I upload). I would love to include some of my faves from you guys too... wonder if I'm clever enough to do that. Part of my reason for starting this was the enjoyment of looking at the shots which otherwise would end up in a drawer somewhere (or worse now that digital has taken over). I'd love to carry on looking at them.
I intend to make a book - maybe weekly 'tho, rather than every day. I have kept the photos organised on my hard drive for each month (and back up of course!)
@lesip you can have a running project on Blurb. You just have to edit it every 30 days to keep it active, they email you and warn you if it is getting close
This is my first run through a 365 project. I'm looking at putting together a book through Blurb. They offer the best pricing I've seen for a 350+ page book.
I will include every image of my project, good or not. The point of the project to me is to use my camera more, learn new techniques, and improve my photography skills. By including the more "snapshot-like" photos along with my artistic shots, I am revealing my journey as an improving photographer.
Great thread. I've got loads ideas from here. Originally I just thought I'd put each day's pic, no matter how terrible, in a scrapbook type album as a visual diary of my year. Now I'm beginning to wonder whether I can do more ... but in meantime, just keeping everything on hard drive - and a reminder to self to back up!!
@lesip I made my first year into a book on Blurb. Really easy to figure out & use and I was super happy with how it came out. I even made some of my own templates. I did it all at the end of my project and it took a few months working on it on & off. I plan on doing the same at the end of this year, though I also like @carmel 's calendar gift idea!
As I'm going along I print each image at the end of the month and display them in my hall, replacing them when I come to the end of another month. Except for May - I didn't like May much.
I plan to use Blurb as well to create an album for year one. I really need to get busy! Then year two after that. I also thought of photo calendars as gifts.
My Dad has a big birthday on New Years Day so am going to make a photocalendar for him of my best or favourite images from the different months - for example the 1 from January will be January's image in the calendar. Any months I have extra images I will use them for the last 2 months as I was advised to create the calendar after Halloween (31st October). I am also going to have a photomosaic of all the images as the cover.
I made my first year of 365 into a book, doing a week for each page. (At 8.5 x 11 there were several easy layouts I came up with to accommodate different layouts of horizontal and vertical.) I also included some smaller thumbnails or "runners up" at the end, because some days you just have a lot going on! I printed using shutterfly.com . (I had previously printed a book using snapfish.com and was very disappointed, because all of the pages got chopped off slightly around the margins.)
@lesip i'm working on my 5th Blurb book. It's very easy to use. And yes, you can have an ongoing project. I have at least one in the works at any point in time.
Maybe next year, I will plan a book and do more of a theme of photos.
I recently thought of trying to do a theme per month for my next year....
Great question - and answer!
I'm attempting to improve as the year goes on.
I like the create a book idea, and will look into that. I am thinking a week-at-a-time theme would be good.

Hi i am new here, i like the idea of printing them all out and making an album :)
