I am posting to let my followers know I found out yesterday that my home is still standing. It is a miracle considering the vast destruction to my neighborhood. We will be allowed to see our property by bus tomorrow, but will not be able to get off the bus. I am without a computer right now, so have been unable to post photos. I hope to be
back on soon. I found this time lapse video and find it amazing! At the end, the neighborhood on fire is where I live.

Thank you all for your wonderful support!
That is great news that your house is still standing Wendy! Seeing the pics of the devastation is bad enough, I can't imagine having to live with it. Hopefully more rather than less of your area made it thru!
Wendy, that is WONDERFUL NEWS !!! I've spent some time today reading the Colorado Forest Service's information on "Creating Wildfire Defensible Zones". My wife and I need to do some more work. Take Care.
you've been in my thoughts and i'm so happy to hear that you're house is still standing. wishing you safety and wellness. and thank you for the update.
So glad you have received some good news among the devastation. Praying for others who may not have been as fortunate. I hope the bus ride is encouraging for you and that you will be able to return home ASAP!
Oh Wendy!! I was wondering why i havent seen any of your Pic's!! I am so Sorry to Hear this! But i am Glad your House is Still Standing!! I will be praying for you and your family..this must be so Hard ! I will be waiting for you to come back!!! Gods Blessing's!! :)
Thank goodness you are well and that your home has been spared. What a tragedy for those in your area that didn't have the same luck... That is an amazing video!
So glad to hear about your house and see this update from you! Glad you are ok! What an awful experience for you and your family. I'm so sorry you've had to go through this. I have thought of you so often and am so glad to hear your news. I am praying for you all. We've experienced the smoke from the Hyde Park fire west of Fort Collins, but can't even imagine what it's been like for you there. I heard over 30,000 people were evacuated from their homes! More people than the town I grew up in. It's just unimaginable and so tragic. Thank God your home was spared and you and your family are ok.
Thank you so much for letting us know how you are! I am glad to hear that your home is safe. My thoughts are with everyone going through this tragedy. Stay safe.
Oh Wendy, I've only just read your post. I'm so glad to hear you are safe and I hope that you will be able to return home soon. What a hard time this must be. My thoughts are with you x
Oh my!!!! Thank you all sooo much for your comments, prayers and support! I am happy to say we were able to move back into our home last night after 10 of evacuation! I am just so thankful that we had a home to move back to and the condition is amazingly better than I ever expected. It was so scary not knowing if our home was still standing for several days and now we know just how lucky were are by looking around the neighborhood. There will be a lot of work ahead for our neighborhood and community, but I am so thankful most everyone was safe.
I wanted to reply to each of you, but have limited time right now trying to settle back in, so I hope you understand this thank you and know I have missed being able to comment on photos, but sure hope to get back on soon. I will try to post when I can and sure thank you again for your amazing thoughts and support!!!
@exposure4u No thanks required Wendy... at least not for me... i'm just so glad to hear your home is still standing... definitely you have other priorities right now... all the best in getting yourself resettled...
I'm just so happy for you that this ordeal is over and that you were one of the lucky ones to find your home still standing. I can't image what it would be like for so long not knowing what you'll find once you were allowed to return to your neighborhood. prayers were answered.
I'm so glad that you are back in your house. What an hard time it must have been for you, and my thoughts are with your neighbours that will have to rebuild. Take care Wendy x
NOAA has two facilities. One was less than 10 miles and the other within 2 miles which was really close. I'm sure many people lost homes.
The big thing is glad to hear you and your family are OK. Property can be replaced.
