I am proposing that we have a meetup for those living in Sydney. Illawarra, South Coast, Highlands and ACT. This might a little travel for some but would be a great opportunity to meet, share and shoot.
To give a framework I am proposing that we meet on Saturday 19 January, at Coalcliff to shoot sea cliff bridge, pool and the rock platforms. Although it would be great to meet early probably 11am would be best for those travelling. Afterwards perhaps coffe and luch at a local cafe or at the Scarborough Hotel.
This is only a suggestion of a place, date and time so please give some feedback and amendments. There are many other great places along the coast and inland. Where we could have a photo walk and meetup.
Looking forward to your comments and hopefully, participation.
Awesome idea. I frequent that area too
Bummer about the date :( I'll be in Smith's lake next weekend.
Let me know if the date gets changed, I'm definitely in
Shots taken in this area
Man I am excited..... I have that weekend free and I would love to hit Wollongong also as there are a heap of war bunkers that I would love to shoot.
it sounds like the date is a bad one for most other people but I think I am keen if I can find a place to camp.
I also must add, what is with the 11am start???? You need to be there at the crack of dawn at late in the afternoon. 11am would be the worst possible time.
@aurorajane@agima@kjarn@lbmcshutter@ltodd on 19th low tide is at around 8am and high tide around 2pm. Sunrise is at 6am. I
I am happy to meet with you earlier Brian, but not sure what is convenient for everyone else. Late afternoon there is too much shadow from escarpment and shooting from rock shelf towards bridge can get very glarey. The sun is effectively setting towards Scarborough. Early will give good light on cliffs, bridge and on pool. I am looking forward to meeting all on the day
Sounds wonderful but date not good for me- out on mtn bike. Keep me posted on future events - but between work and kids not much spare time these days for the camera:-(
would love to join in as I havent been to that area yet, even though my kids live in wollongong and I visit frequently! But I'm shooting a baby that day (well you know what I mean!!). A great idea!
@peterdegraaff Hi Peter, thanks for your invite and my apologies for not replying sooner but i'm not on 365 much these days, definitely love the idea of a meet up but unfortunately I am busy the weekend of the 19-20th but if the date changes please do let me know, I will try and keep an eye on here to find out.. As for location I don't frequent these areas very much so am more than happy to leave location up to you :)
At this stage I think we should proceed on the 19th, but maybe aim for 10ish instead of 11, except for @agima who wants to meet earlier. But if you get there at 11 that is still OK. Let me know what you think. Happy to meet early with Brian. For those who think they can make can you confirm you are definite. I suggest we meet at the Coal Cliff Rock Pool.
For those travelling from Sydney the easiest access would be to turn off at Helensburgh and head down though Stanwell Park. For those who cant make it this time, we could try to make this an event every so often
@peterdegraaff
I'm not sure if I will make it or not at this stage, it seems I may be going away for work again soon (for a couple of months too). I will know more early next week (I hope)
No worries. Looking forward to the next one. I've heard there are awesome tunnels etc in the Wollongong area. Would love to meet up for some light painting and steel wool :)
@peterdegraaff it looks like I wont be able to get away as I have to medicate my dog (ear and bladder infection) and a few times a day and its a bit far to travel for only a few hours... :(
@peterdegraaff ~ Peter are you sure you want to go ahead with tomorrow if it's just Lyn & myself? Understand if you want to make it for a later time .... but also keen to make it. Unless I hear otherwise, I'll see you at 10 (:
Oky doky - On my way - Just one question for the out-of-towners (that would be me), is it the coalcliff ocean pool? Just checking Google maps and that's the only pool I am seeing at the moment.
@redpants @ltodd @joluise @aurorajane @abhijit @lbmcshutter @tkeen @clarek @kjarn @sabine I have probably missed a few people that are in the region. But please contribute
