This series hit home for me deeply. Not nly is my husband in the US Army but my older brother Rico who passed away a few years ago was a Marine, my baby brother is in the Navy, my father served in the Marines and both of my grandfathers were in the military as well.
Sorry if I am crossing a line, I just thought it showed how emotional a photo can be.
@catdudz Thanks for sharing. I am an Army wife of 25+ years. Thankfully, even after 3 deployments, my husband has had few issues. But, one of his close friends committed suicide a year after they returned from Iraq the last time from "silent wounds." So sad.
Thank you for sharing this. I hope it was therapeutic for them. We also loose good people to PTSD in my line of work as well (as a firefighter). Hopefully this helps raise awareness of the pain these people go through.
That's really something else. My husband is retired Army. He struggles with PTSD and TBI so this is a subject close to home for sure. Thank you for sharing.
My knitting friend, whose work I have occasionally photographed and shared here on 365, is retired Navy and has a failed suicide attempt under her belt. She still struggles with PTSD and depression.
These photos are poignant on many levels as, in addition to my knitting friend, many of my relatives and other friends have served as well. Very powerful. Thanks for sharing. It's helpful to know the vets found the experience therapeutic.
