Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.
Helen Keller
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
Khalil Gibran
Sometimes, I feel sad and low in energy and the many good things in my world are easy to overlook. I have enjoyed the themes and competitions that I have participated in, but this next month I am inviting you to join me, if you wish, in posting only those things which make me get in touch with the deep well of joy that is always possible to find even, or especially in the smallest things.
oh my, this is so appropriate to me right now - especially the second half of the Khalil Gibran quotation. I may well join in with this, a great idea for a theme.
What a lovely idea for a theme! This project has taught me to find the beauty in the ordinary things around me, and that brings me such joy. Love the idea of taking time every day to celebrate that joy.
of course i'll join you, because june is a bitchy month and i will be bitchy all the time so to de-bitch i will try to find the joyful things. look out for a lot of food shots then! thank you, dixie!
What a great idea. My 365 project is family themed for the year so I am lucky enough to be posting my joy for the majority of the time! (also my frustration, happiness, sadness, pretty much the whole spectrum of emotions that comes from family!)
Interestingly I had been thinking "joyful June" for the last few days- may combine yours with something I'd been thinking about and use your tag-they go quite well together!
@pandorasecho - feeling really joyful now! we're starting on the weekend - it's my stepson's birthday next week and little ivy jean's was yesterday - so we will be going there on the weekend to have a double celebration.
@summerfield@pandorasecho I would love to join in as much as I can! One year, right before I started Facebooking (maybe about 6 years ago? ) I did this thing with my friend Thirty Days of Happiness. We'd take note of the small things (or big ones) that gave us joy, write about it and email it to each other...It is funny to think of doing that by email..but at that time, that is all we knew. I was a "budding 365" just waiting to bloom haha Thanks for the invite to join in Vikki!
@pandorasecho I had been thinking of "joyful June" and doing something with the letters J O Y. Hadn't really settled on picking out a list or just looking for things that start with those letters at random. I also thought about including found letters or doing j on Sunday, o on Monday, y on Tuesday, j on Wednesday, u on Thursday, n on Friday and e on Saturday (for Joy-June). I don't know if that blends in with your idea or not, but feel free to incorporate it in whatever way you want.
@sarasdadandmom@mrssmith203 thought of both of you, and a lot of others but in a rush this morning and wanted to get at least you two invited if you are interested
My youngest son and his girl have been together 2 years now. She sent me this this morning so I have to share even though it is not one with my finger on the shutter button. In 2 weeks we get to bring them home for the summer and end the first school year of "empty nesting"
What a great reminder to enjoy what is around you and appreciate it. Here's my first picture of June--a fresh mint harvest for a mojito party with family and friends. Cheers!
@misterkitty Cheers to you--mint is so refreshing! I hope you had fun at the party. :) Angels, and things with wings, make me happy. So I was very joyful when I found this angel bench with some very colorful wings. Unleash your joy!
@pandorasecho Thank you for this wonderful theme! It couldn't have some at a better time. :)
Taking my girls fishing at the same "old family fishing hole" where I went with my parents and grandparents as a kid--feeling uprooted and moving from place to place for most my 20's, being able to ground myself and continue this family tradition brings me a lot of joy.
