It is a challenge that could go in so many directions but I have settled on a photographer for this time round, whose work is generally classified as documentary. I hope that you will agree that she is an artist.
She currently has works displayed in London in the new wing of the Tate Modern (The Switch House), as part of the Living Cities Exhibition. Seeing these a few weeks ago has inspired my choice for the artist challenge. www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/sirkka-liisa-konttinen-9246
Most of Kinttinen's work arises through familiarity with her subject. Her collection – Byker, for instance, came through living in a community whose buildings were marked for demolition, and becoming part of that community, sharing and documenting daily life with co-operation of her subjects.

Haha, this challenge works for me. I live in 2016 in Seattle, but I'd say I'm in the same social class as a lot of her subjects, and my house is as messy and eclectic and theirs it seems.
Ooh, this is an interesting one! I'll definitely give it a go, the area I live in looks fairly similar to the area she documented (but on the opposite side of the country :) )
