There were some eye-catching entries for the Eye of the Beholder challenge this time around. My criteria in choosing the finalists went from "it's quirky and humorous" to "it's intriguing and an out-of-the-box definition of beautiful". So here are my top five for your consideration:
1. Oh well... by Vera (She made the best of a dreary day and found something beautiful outside her office window)
2. Trolley #2 by Scott Houston (He found beauty and humor in an abandoned shopping cart)
3. Ivories by Clare Gadsby (She found an abstract expression of beauty in some piano keys)
4. Lichen Patterns by Liana Bull (She found a source of haunting beauty in the lichen growing on her glass house)
5. Holding it Together by Kali (She found beauty in a place most would pass by)
Congratulations to all the finalists. Voting will begin today (12/8) and finish at midnight EST on Dec. 10 (Saturday).
