One of my favourite challenges, especially after just finishing off FoR is the RAINBOW.
Huge thanks to Mel for running this for years, and to @anniesue for picking it up last year.
This year, I'm more than happy to get things running.
A great way to spend March is to go wild splashing the colour around on 365 after a month of wonderful monochrome courtesy of @olivetreeann and Flash of Red February.
Whether you’re new to 365 or not, I hope lots of you will join in again this year 😊
So here’s what it’s all about...
The challenge lasts for the entire month of March. Each day of the week has a colour of the rainbow – Mondays are red, Tuesdays are orange, Wednesdays are yellow and so on. The table below will show you which date and day of the week matches each colour, and lining them up vertically like this is what most people do, but your images can also go horizontally or diagonally if you prefer.
My table has purple for Saturday and pink for Sunday, but you can go with indigo on Saturday and purple/violet on Sunday, the choice is yours!
Remember this is your 365 project, so make any variation on this you like. Just have a colourful lot of fun!
Tag your images rainbow2023 and once we start posting on March 1st, you’ll be able to see them rainbow2023
The links below will show you our previous year’s finished calendars and discussion threads so that you can get inspired and learn more about the challenge.
This is a really fun and cheerful challenge and it’s a great way of unleashing your creativity and getting inspired 😊
There won’t be weekly prompts for this challenge, but if you’d like to be notified when the thread for our finished calendars is posted at the end of March – comment below and let me know!
This is superb! I love colour, the more vibrant the better. Is it ok to do digital editing, abstracts and so on? Or should it only be a colourful photograph?
@cocokinetic You are so welcome!
I'm maybe going to do 2 albums, with quite different images, one lot natural colours, one with forced colours and make one the regular pattern and one the last pattern above. I am probably taking on too much, but I feel a huge need for some serious fun this month!
although, i don't think i'm going to torture myself this year... work is eating my brain and my shoulder is taking it's own sweet time to recover... and i'm going away in late March meaning i won't have my home "studio" to help with a consistent look/feel...
that said, i'm still pondering a couple thematic approaches, so who knows 🥴
It is still February here, and I'm still in the bw mode, so I have difficulties to commit myself yet! to what is tomorrow. ;-) Let's see what I'm thinking tomorrow and I better read my notes-to-brain from the last years before joining in.
@bjywamer I have done that in the past, takes some stress out of it and might as well use archives that havent seen the light of day yet, I will do a hybrid myself with old and new as I come across them
@koalagardens First timer here for a month long challenge! I couldn’t find a link about making it into a month-end collage. Thanks so much for setting up this challenge. 🌈
Hey @mltrotter it's so much fun and easy. When you upload your photos just add this to the tags field rainbow2023 that's it. that puts your photo in the challenge. then if you search that tag you will see all the photos that have been entered. there is no prize, this is just a month theme to challenge yourself with in a fun way.
Hope that makes sense!
Am planning on doing @annied word combo.
I've made a couple of diagonal samples to help get the creativity flowing!
Thank you! That’s very kind of you to do this. Downloaded and saved 💛⭐️
